The Greater Baltimore History Alliance (GBHA) today announced that it will again hold a museum yard sale on Saturday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the pavilion of the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

Exhibit graphics, banners, posters, exhibit cases, gift shop stock, furniture, photos and much more from 30 museums throughout Baltimore will be on sale to the public.  All sales will benefit the GBHA.

The GBHA’s Yard Sale will be the organization’s largest fundraiser in 2010 and the funds raised will provide vital support for the nonprofit’s programming and educational efforts with the city’s school children.

“Baltimore’s history museums preserve and teach over 300 years of our city’s history, and this event is a fun way for people to find some great bargains while supporting all history institutions at once,” said Roland Woodward, Board President for the GBHA. “We will be selling an incredibly diverse number of items on May 22nd.  If you’ve ever walked through a museum and wanted to pluck something out of a display case and take it home, this is your chance. We will also have great deals on gift shop items, office equipment, and great sports memorabilia.”

About the GBHA
Founded in 1988, the Greater Baltimore History Alliance (GBHA) is a consortium of Baltimore area history museums dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting local heritage through collaborative community services and educational programs.  Each year, 2 million people visit the museums and historic sites that comprise the GBHA. Through educational programs, these museums reach thousands of schoolchildren each year. There are currently 48 locations in the GBHA and it continues to grow. Each member plays an important role in interpreting the history of the Baltimore area for visitors and area residents.
