Education: Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of related experience;

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for marketing and promotion of St. May’s County Museum to the public; assists with planning and developing events and programs for the Museums; performs other duties as assigned.
Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote the Museum Division and its activities;
Assists with planning and implementation of public programs, exhibitions, and activities of the Museum Division;
Develops collateral resources for the community for the benefit of the Museum Division;
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of the community, media, professional organizations, and employee groups;
Writes and issues promotional materials for print and on-line media outlets;
Assists Fund-Raising coordinator in publishing newsletters and annual reports;
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to gain thorough knowledge of St. Mary’s County Government policies and procedures;
Ability to effectively communicate with other staff and especially members of the public;
Ability to apply departmental policies and procedures to daily work tasks;
Ability to work independently on tasks and maintain accurate records;
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and the ability to work within a budget;

Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls.
Hiring Salary: $40,123 annually
