    Small Museums Working Together

Call for Proposals, 42nd annual conference, February 16-18, 2026, theme: climate change

Submit a Proposal

Theme: Climate Change

Explore how museums are dealing with the challenges of climate change, from more extreme weather events to changing community needs. Join other small museum professionals and volunteers in discussing the key role small museums can play in educating, engaging, and supporting their communities in the face of changing physical and social climates.

Off-theme proposals are also welcome, but preference will be given to proposals that are on-theme and/or offer practical solutions to common problems faced by small museums.

The SMA Conference Committee is requesting that panels reflect the diverse communities that museums serve. SMA Conference Attendees tend to like practical sessions with roadmaps for implementation at their own sites.
