All attendees to SMA's Annual Conference receive a complimentary organizational membership. If you plan on attending the conference this year, your membership will be automatically renewed or activated shortly after you register for the conference. Access to Previous SMA Conference Materials
As a member, now enjoy members-only access to parts of the SMA website. These member-only sections feature video-recordings of up to five conference sessions each year following the Annual Small Museum Association Conference each February (usually available mid-April). In addition, our generous conference presenters almost always share resources from their sessions, including powerpoints, samples documents, and more. These sessions will only be available to current members so be sure to keep you membership active!
All memberships require an email address. Each individuals who has an Individual Membership or Organizational Membership will have a unique log in for their account based on their email. Using their email and private password, members can log into the members section of the website to access their member benefits. Organizational memberships are complimentary to organizations attending the annual Small Museum Association Conference in February.
Annual memberships are also available for $20.00 with two different options:
Individual members enjoy full membership benefits for one person. Please choose the organizational membership level if you work for a company/ organization that plans on sharing membership privileges.
Organizational members enjoy full membership benefits for those people associated with their organization. Please select one person to serve as the administrator for your membership who will receive renewal notifications. That administrator can then add additional staff or volunteers to their membership. They will need the names and emails of the people they want to add. This level of membership is also granted complimentary to organizations attending the Small Museum Association Conference in February.
How to Join
A one-year SMA membership is included with a registration to the annual Small Museum Association Conference held each February. If there will be multiple people attending from your institution, please select one main administrator for the membership so that we can assign your organization an institutional membership rather than an individual membership. Complimentary memberships are good for one year, from March 1 of the year of the conference your attend to February 28 the following year. Learn more about this year's conference by clicking here.
