Registration

1: Hero – $5,000.00
This sponsorship package includes: large logo on conference swag bag and ability to add marketing materials to the conference bag,
4 registrations (including all meals and banquet), an optional exhibitor table in the Resource Hall, prominent logo on SMA Conference App, website, and conference emails, logo on conference signage, and the opportunity to speak directly to the group at the banquet and introduce the Keynote Speaker.
2: Partner Sponsor – $2,500.00
Sponsor one of our many amazing events including our off-site reception, the bar during the Resource Hall Mixer, the banquet, or off-site tours. Ask us about available opportunities. This sponsorship package includes: small logo on conference swag bag and ability to add marketing materials to the conference bag,

3: Exhibitor – $1,250.00
This is the classic exhibitor opportunity to present your organization, wares, and/or services to some of the most engaged museum staffers in the nation! This sponsorship package comes with 2 registrations (including all meals and banquet), Resource Hall table, logo on the SMA Conference App and the website, and the opportunity to include marketing materials in the conference bag.
4: Exhibitor (Non-Profit Organization) – $800.00
This is the classic exhibitor opportunity to present your organization, wares, and/or services to some of the most engaged museum staffers in the nation! This sponsorship package comes with 2 registrations (including all meals and banquet), Resource Hall table, logo on the SMA Conference App and the website, and the opportunity to include marketing materials in the conference bag.
5: Scholarship Underwriter – $500.00
Help others attend the SMA conference by sponsoring a scholarship or donating to the Lesley van der Lee Scholarships. If you are sponsoring a scholarship in your organization's name, contact scholarships@smallmuseum.org. This opportunity includes your logo on the SMA Conference App and the website and recognition during the scholarship ceremony. This opportunity does not include event registration but can be paired with an attendee registration.
6: Advertiser – $250.00
Take advantage of the SMA conference mobile app. Companies, consultants, restaurants, and other organizations are welcome to advertise on the SMA mobile app as well as add swag to the attendee bags! This opportunity does include your logo on the SMA Conference App and the website and the opportunity to include marketing materials in the conference bag. This opportunity does not include event registration but can be paired with an attendee registration.

41st Annual SMA Conference

The annual SMA conference attracts hundreds of museum professionals, board members, and volunteers from a wide variety of small museums across the county. They attend sessions on topics ranging from collections and education to staffing and board issues.

This year, our conference will address the theme "Make It Happen." Is there an exhibit, program, or fundraiser that you've been talking about doing for years? Do you feel stuck because of procrastination, lack of board support, or insufficient funds? It's time to take action! At SMA 2025, small museum professionals will share their tips and tricks of how they made it happen!

As part of each conference, we offer a Resource Hall and plenty of informal networking opportunities for you to talk with (and get ideas from!) other small museum professionals and volunteers.

Want to Sponsor and Support the SMA but Cannot Attend?

Not a problem at all! If you want to support the SMA or sponsor a scholarship, but cannot attend, please follow the prompts and fill out the registration page. Please respond "No" to the question: "Do you plan on attending the conference?" This will help our registrar receive an accurate count of attendees while still allowing you to support the work of the SMA! Thank you!

Registering Multiple Attendees

If choosing a support package that includes multiple conference registrations, you will be able to register yourself and your colleagues under the same support package registration. Additional colleagues not included with your support package must be registered under the main conference registration.

Payment

You may pay online with a credit card or PayPal account. Online payments will be redirected to PayPal and returned to SMA following completion.

If you prefer to pay offline, contact Robin MacDonald, SMA Treasurer, at treasurer@smallmuseum.org for the most up-to-date mailing address and send your check or money order payable to "Small Museum Association". Your registration is not complete until your payment is received.

COVID-19

SMA recommends that attendees follow current CDC guidelines with regard to COVID.

Photographs

By registering, you give the SMA Board and Conference Committee permission to take and use photographs of you at SMA Conference programming for publicity purposes.

Online Schedule

This year the SMA is using Sched, an online scheduling site for our event program and schedule! You will be automatically opted into Sched unless you indicate otherwise while registering for the conference. The schedule is always being updated, so check back regularly for the most up to date information!
