The Small Museum Association will hold its 36th annual conference in College Park, Maryland from February 16-18, 2020. As the only conference in the country dedicated specifically to small museums, this gathering draws museum professionals, board members, and volunteers from across the country.

This year, the SMA conference will offer sessions that address the theme: "Honoring the 100th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage: Museums as Catalysts of Social Change." We hope you can join us!

Registration is open. 

Everyone who attends the conference will receive a one-year complimentary membership to the Small Museum Association. Learn more about membership here. Advanced registration will close Monday, January 13th, 2020. After that point, registration rates will increase.

Hotel Registration
The conference is being held at The Hotel at the University of Maryland, 7777 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, MD,  and we are offering a special discounted rate to our attendees. It is $112 a night for standard single King and double Queen rooms and $142 a night for executive style rooms. Please call to reserve your room at 1-844-954-6835 and mention the Small Museum Association conference to get the discounted rate.  Reservation cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid a room charge of one night. Please note: Room block rates end January 15, 2020. Reservations after that day for a room will increase in price and a room may not be guaranteed in The Hotel. 

There are different registration instructions for vendors, speakers, and other conference attendees. If you are a speaker, please carefully read the information in the registration portal before registering.

 Full Registration  $190 (includes all sessions Sun-Tues and all meals)  $230
 Student Registration  $170 (includes all sessions Sun-Tues and all meals, please email a copy of your ID)  $200
 Sunday Only Registration  $50 (includes Sunday sessions and the wine & cheese reception)  $65
 Monday Only Registration  $150 (includes all sessions Sun-Mon and meals Monday)  $175
 Tuesday Only Registration  $75  (includes all sessions Tues and breakfast)  $95
 Banquet Only  $50  (the Monday-evening Banquet is a highlight of the SMA conference)  $60
 Full Guest Meals Package  $150 (all meals Monday and Tuesday)  $180

To cancel a registration please contact the registrar at registration@smallmuseum.org. Registrations cancelled up to 2 weeks prior to the conference will be refunded at 50%. Cancellations after this time will not receive a refund.
